What is this privacy notice for?

This privacy notice is for this website [ https://www.alex-chilton.co.uk ] and served by Alex Chilton Design Ltd. and governs the privacy of its users who choose to use it.

Alex Chilton Design Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information. This does however include name, address, email address and phone numbers.

Why we need your data

We need to know your basic personal data in order to contact you about the progress of the work you have commissioned us to do; printing we supply to you; changes to our operations or office hours; annual leave dates and announcements which affect our customers. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

To clarify, we only collect personal data for legitimate interests, which are:

  • to keep our existing clients informed about the ongoing project / commission
  • to contact prospective clients who have approached us
  • to inform our clients about any office closures or changes in our details or policies

In addition, we send out monthly newsletters to a client database which is already GDPR compliant, ie emails are only being sent to individuals who have opted in for the campaign.

 

What we do with your data

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Union. No third parties have access to your personal data unless we have received permission from you, or if the law allows them to do so.

 

Use of data processors

We have printing partners who will act as processors and third-party recipients of our client data. We will be using all reasonable endeavours to ensure that our third party suppliers are complying with the GDPR. The new contracts will state that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct. The data consists of the client’s name, address, telephone number and email address. If we have not received permission from a client, we will request our suppliers to remove our clients’ details from their database.

The current suppliers who act as third-party processors for us are: FourWay Print Ltd, Grafenia Plc, Freestyle Solutions, Signs Express, TSO Host and AGA Print Limited.

 

Google Analytics

This website uses tracking software to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. This software is provided by Google Analytics which uses cookies to track visitor usage. The software will save a cookie to your computers hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information. How long we keep your data

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish for us to do so.

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted.
